Isn't it funny the things we can be fascinated by when we are kids? my grandmother kept her sewing things in a Whitman's Sampler candy box, i bought one at a garage sale.

I love a purple glass violin my mother kept in the window when I was a child, a always admired it and often asked her if I could have it when she didn't want it anymore. Well, one day a neighbor walking into her kitchen and admired and she gave it to her.it took me nearly 20 years to find one like it but it is my favorite "unnecessary item".

This is my pink dog. He is a planter. My mom had one of these when I was a kid. I loved that pink dog. Don't know what happened to her's, but I found this guy at a flea market and couldn't resist getting him. I gave $2.00 for him which I thought was a steal.
