Libby: I found an article in the Creating Keepsakes Magazine, March 2003 issue, page 40 that solves the scanner problem!! There is a progam called The ulead cool 360. It is a program that "blends" two parts of a scan together. So you can scan the right side in your scanner than scan the left and merge them. You can get the program free for a 14 day trial at www.ulead.com/cool360. I have been using it and I love it! I am going to buy it. If you download it to use it, there are a couple things I learned. It has a three step process. On the first step, choose wide angle image, not 360, and on the second step, when you "aquire" the scan from your scanner, choose JPG rather than TIFF." It is really simple. I am going to post a LO called "Its all in the Genes" that I used the program on....I LOVE IT!
LibbyJo: As I stated before I was having problems taking pictures of my layouts. Today, I took them outside and took them in the sunlight instead of with a flash. It worked great! No shadows or washout or flash marks! Just thought I would share the idea with you!

Libby..wonderful use of blocks. I also have trouble taking pictures of my layouts. My scanner is 8 1/2 by 17...the 12 x 12 LO's won't fit. I hate it...the colors don't quite come out right with the digital..and the flash glare..and the shadows, etc. I empathize! (y)
Thanks - that makes me feel better. I took at least 6 of one layout and the results were less than satisfactory so now I know I just have to be persistent!
Much to my dismay, I take a digital photo. I struggle terribly with glare from the flash or shadows cast by my fat head or the camera itself. I usually have to take about 8 photos of a layout from all different angles until I get one that is okay. Okay is the best I can strive for! One of these days I will get a new scanner that is iMac compatible.
thanks for the compliment.

Nicely done! Question for you: Do you take pictures of your layouts with a digital camera or do you scan them? I have yet to submit layouts because I can't seem to get a quality picture.
I had a template in my hand to buy, but my coupon wasn't any good, so I put it back. Well, I am glad that I did! This is so easy to do on your own. Just put your pictures down and then start cutting your paper. Easy as fishing!
