The story of my daughters name
What a gorgeous name. Deep within in that name lies some very significant meaning though. And I think it’s important that you know the background of a name fit for a princess! Cambry was a name we had picked out of a list of 8. For the first 8 months, you were Layla or Ainsley. We just couldn’t pick between those two. A few weeks before you were born, we looked on our list of 8 one last time. The name Cambry jumped out to us and we just knew that was going to be your name. Your beautiful middle name, Maxine, was very thought out and was always what we thought of for you. You see, your great grandpa Larry Max Holdaway (my mother’s father) has always been very close with me. From day one, I was always his little princess. I’ve always known it and he and I have shared a bond that only a little princess can have with her grandpa. To this day, he still calls me his princess. And since the day you were born, you became his little princess as well. He calls you this every time he sees you and you love it. From that, I have also developed a habit of calling you Princess. He is a special man in my life and has meant so much to me. I wanted to honor that relationship with him, by carrying on his name in you as I was sure you were our little princess. Your great grandmother Norma Maxine King (my father’s mother) was killed in a car accident in 1970. My dad was the youngest of all the children in his family and felt a close bond with his mom. Ever since I was little, I too have felt a bond with her. Even though I have never met her in this life, I know that she is always with me and she was with both of us before we came to this earth. I have had dreams about her and I feel her presence very strongly in my own day to day life. I am sure that you and her had a special relationship in Heaven and I hope that you too, will feel of her presence and understand the woman that she was, and the name that you carry on is hers as well. Both of these names mean more to me than just letters from the alphabet, more to me than just random selections, and more to me than just people from my past. The names carry stories, lives, legacies, and legends. My dear princess, Cambry Maxine, I hope that as you live your life, you will carry these same things with you, that you will honor these people by honoring their names.
