Wow, that must have really been rough. I would never have made it losing my mom so early. As it was, I feel her life was cut short far before her time. She was 61 when she passed. Or, as she always said... 16 backwards. :)
Thank you for sharing. Your comments brought tears to my eyes and I miss my Mom too. I lost her when I was 18 so a lot of the memories are from high school.
what a sweet memory to share with us!! brought tears to my eyes!! need to call my momma and tell her how much i love her!!! the mannequins are beautiful set up in your room!!
Thank you both for your comments. :)
About the walls, they are a Martha Stewart color I think was called Driftwood. It's very neutral, a kind of grey with a hint of lavender. I was crazy about it when we first painted it about 10 years ago but I'm wanting something with a little more punch now, just for a change.
About the song, there may be more than one but I like the one by Creed.
I remember in junior high when I first joined the show choir at the high school. I had sung on stage many times but never danced. Now I had to do both at the same time and I was afraid I'd forget the steps and die of embarrassment (a teenager's worst nightmare). I asked my mom what I should do if I messed up. She said, "It's just like when you're playing the piano in a recital and you just keep playing. No matter what happens, don't stop dancing." It turned out to be good advice, not only for show choir but for life in general. When Mom passed, I inherited her art mannekins and had no idea what to do with them. Then I remembered her words of wisdom and posed them accordingly to remind me... No matter what happens, don't stop dancing. I miss you, Mama. TFL Scrap happy! ~jen
