What a tragedy!!! She had done so much in such a short time -- think of all that might have come had she lived a long life! This is a beautiful, beautiful tribute --- and the layout is awesome. You're right -- the picture is totally over the top too! Fantastic layout!
This is a vision in black & white. The story just adds to the beauty of the lo. I can understand somewhat of what you're going through, as I have leukemia, but thanks to a wonderful doctor, I've been in remission about 8 years! Plan on staying that way too.
I love the tribute of your mother's sister. It is beautiful and very tragic. The music talent may not have filtered to you but the creative part did. You just are creative with pics and papers. LOL
This is absolutely gorgeous, Black and white layout with this photo is gorgeous.. The flowers and the layering of the paper is excellent. Beautiful photo.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even tell you how MUCH I love this!!!!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Truly, I am stunned!!!!!! YOU NEED TO SUBMIT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning work, Sue!!! And that photo is positively amazing! Do you make the little black flowers? I see them often, and just love them....but I never see them to purchase, so I assume that they are handmade???
Oh my gosh! This is simply gorgeous! What a wonderful photo and story to have! And the newspaper clipping as well. And there is nothing glary, funky or wonky about it!!!! It's amazing!!
wow, this is a precious addition to your family album. What a talented woman with so much potential....I am sorry for your loss! Your LO is striking, I love that you included the newsclip along with that fabulous photo of her playing the harp!
Oh wow! this is so elegant and beautiful Sue, yet at the same time so tragic~~I'm loving the layers of patterned b&w papers and the gorgeous bloom cluster!...for sure a fave! beautiful work!
This is another picture that I got off our Family Tree Website (Geni.com) It needed a little restoration, as it had a big crack and scuffs. Once that was done, I was amazed at the beauty of this!
Here's the story. My mom's sister died very young from cancer, the newspaper obituary says an illness of 2 months. She was only 24 years old, and left a husband and 11 month old daughter.
But the truly amazing thing was her musical talent. (My mom's family was very talented musically … unfortunately; it didn't filter down to me!)
It said my aunt appeared in Broadway shows (1953), was a member of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and played with the NBC Symphony Orchestra and Fred Waring's Orchestra and on various other TV shows. She also recorded an album with “The Three Sons” and appeared in a movie “Men of Music”, a documentary on the New York Philharmonic. She had gone to the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and studied harp under Carlos Salzedo, world-famous harpist. She was a highly-regarded musician. And she was ONLY 24 years old. Her obituary is dated 3-17-1954. She died in Lynbrook, NY. How sad …. No “…so tragic”.
Sorry about the glary spot in the middle, and the wonky angle. The letters look a little funky as I painted them white and they got a little thick.
