It was a beautiful day, a bit hot, but our visit to Heidelberg was a wonderful experience. Our guide explained to us that Heidelberg is the 5th largest city in Germany. (They say that Elvis was stationed here when he was in the military.)
We found Heidelberg to be a very scenic city located southeast of Frankfurt, past Mannheim. The highlight of Heidelberg is the Heidelberg Castle, a magnificent display of historic ruins. I was struck by the different architectural styles of the Castle, from plain unadorned Gothic to beautiful facades of the Renaissance era, with very ornate designs and sculptures. It was really quite interesting.
Heidelberg attracts about 3 million visitors each year, and just think, we are now one in 3 million!
We had a wonderful time on our vacation, but some of our vacation layouts are pretty plain and basic. (Just one piece of paper and a cool font.)
