This photo was taken at The Children's Hospital in Denver 2 days after my daughter had her surgery for Sagittal Synostosis (Craniosynostosis-Fused Skull). We liked to get Kendall out of her room and walk all around the hospital, so she wasn't cooped up in that horrible room all of the time. I saw the opportunity for the perfect shot when we rounded the corner and I saw this HUGE window looking straight downtown. The light was coming in just right and I knew I could get a great silhouette. This is one of my most favorite photos, even though it was such a horrible time in our lives, this is something good...and I like that. The frame is inspired by SamsMoms LO "Be Original", I was so excited when I figured out how to do it! Journaling around photo reads: Walk alongside me Daddy, and hold my little hand. I have so many things to learn, that I don't yet understand. Teach me things to keep me safe from dangers every day. Show me how to do my best at home, at school, at play. Every child needs a gentle hand to guide them as they grow. Walk alongside me Daddy--we have a long way to go.
The journaling is a poem from the library with an unknown author. I just love it!
