I like the idea of silver beads for the centers, or you could even do small rhinestones. I really love this pic, and what a fun tradition!!! I really like beth's suggestion of "sweet tradition" as a title and then some journaling describing the tradition.
I like the way you used stamps or doodling in your lo. It looks so nice... As for the title, what about including the word sweet, or something relevant to cake? Like "sweet fortune" or something. I'm not really sure. I'd just think about what the fortunes said and try to use that. Good luck! ;)
It's not a tradition here, but some people do practice it. I always liked the idea, although I didn't have a wedding so I never did it.
I like the idea of Fortune as the title.
This is so pretty!!! Love the colors, the awesome photo corners, the doodling. I think I'd put the slver brads on the flowers just to pull the silver out more. Maybe "Good Fortune" or "Tradition" as a title? Beautiful work here :)
Jasmine: The silver beads as prima centers is a good idea, to add a little sparkle to the layout and balance with the other silver embellies. You could say 'Buried Treasure' as your title, because the treasure is hidden in the cake and you have to hunt for it. You could journal what kinds of treasures are hidden in the cake, or tell us about the treasure that one of those bridesmaids got, and then did she actually get that treasure or is she still waiting for it to materialize in her life?
I suggest that a journal describing the tradition, and the kinds of treasures hidden in the cake, and the 'ceremony' that goes on uncovering the treasures would be good. It reminds me of the husband taking the garter from the bride's leg, and the bride throwing her bouquet over her shoulder. The girl who catches it is supposed to be the next to marry. Silly traditions, but we love them don't we?
This is great too. I love the striped paper. I agree that you should put something in the middle of the primas and maybe you could even put one in the center of the white flower just to tie them all together. As for a title, I am not very good at that...but maybe you could just use "For Good Fortune" or something like that and then in the bottom striped section you could add a journaling block and describe the tradition and what it means...and maybe even what the fortunes said.....
This is sooo beautiful Jas! I glad to be of service! I would so put those beads in the centers of the primas. I think it would give the flowers a classic look. I'm not sure about the title. I'm not good at titles but 'Your Fortune is...'. I sooo love your doodling area here. tfs!
Hmmm...Maybe some pearl beads as the flower centers....The colors are fantastic and the doodling is really sweet (I'm not brave enough to do that yet). Titles: as luck would have it....sweet traditions....luck be a lady...luck of the draw....no, that is not a tradition here, although it should be...could I get married again just to do that? :)
I have no title yet. I don't know if you have the same tradition here. But in Manila, we have some fortune in the cake, you pull out a charm or ribbon and there's some fortune inside. Should I put silver beads as prima centers?? The bottom is a little cut off in the scan. Thanks again Dawn for the photo corner inspiration!
