I am fortunate to have my mama's hand mirror and brush set. It must be over 80 years old. I recall playing with this set and using it to brush my hair. I would sit at my mom's gorgeous vanity. The wood was always polished and the mirrors always glistening. I still have the bench. I have changed out the fabric on the seat and it sits in my livingroom. This set just sat in my dresser. I finally figured a way to hang it on the wall.
I tied a piece of lace around the handle; formed a loop; pinned a cameo from my stash to the lace and wella...a 'new' mirror added to the never ending wall grouping. It sits above a distressed metal feather on the living room wall. It's said that when you find a feather, it's a message from one of your loved ones. So, the feather represents those who passed.
Thanks for stopping by. I can use the company. The holidays are such a glorious time of the year; but it can also bring sadness as we miss those who are not here any longer.
