Great layout! I've been looking for inspirational migraine layouts, trying to figure out how to put on paper how a migraine looks and feels for me. I also get the aura but not every time with my migraines. 30 years is long enough, time for them to move on I say! haha I will definitely use some of your ideas.
Hi, Sharon - I had to check this LO again as I am getting auras in my left eye, but without getting a migraine. Very strange so I have to see a neurologist after my CT scan and blood work. I'll take the aura over the migraine any day though.
Sorry you get the headaches! I get the funky lines that go from one side of my eyes to the other, and once they finish that route, I'm fine. I'm very fortunate that I never get the headaches.
Oh wow - this lo is amazing and I am right there with you! I don't get the aura, but I so get the migraines (just got done with a 3 day-er). I feel for you and totally get this lo!
Never would have thought of adding those bracelet pieces from Michael's but this is awesome. Great stitching. Now I can appreciate what goes into that. Hardest part is threading that needle! Can't wait to see the next one finished that goes with this one :)
WOW. You nailed it. The *aura* people would be very rich if we paid them to never see them again. The hurt so bad. This is a fabulous page. (Why is it on the house? We're you down here when you had one?)
And you drew that horrendous beast at the top, didn't you? The zig-zag stitching in the corners are perfect!! Fabulous work Sharon!!!! Thank God, I've never had one & I hope you never have another! Have you tried botox???? I hear it works for migrains!
Sharon! I used to get migraines and this potrays them amazingly well! I can't even tell you how much I love your awesome page! I hope you feel better soon - I don't get them very much at all any more. Your layout is totally amazing!
Oh I know your pain, well maybe not that intense! I had them really bad in high school, but once in my mid 20's they just stopped, thank goodness! Wonderful portay you showed on your page and I'm so sorry you suffer from them!!
I am not a migraine sufferer , but I wanted to comment that your layout really displays the feel of torment and the monster at the top really is a creative touch.
Sharon, you nailed this one. Great job portraying the aura you see. Looks pretty, but, torment is the right word knowing what other symptoms it brings your way. Nice stitch work. I, too, am a migraine sufferer. I sometimes see semi-circles of jagged, bright white or silver light, usually on my left side and sometimes on both sides. It brings me breathlessness, nausea, server headache and feeling faint. Your LO did what words could not! Very creative, my friend.
Wow! I suffer from migraines too, as you know, and had a whopper last night. They often make me sick to my stomach, but I have never experienced an aura with them. While you make it look pretty, I'm sure that having bright imagry obscuring my vision would indeed be torment. Your monster aptly conveys the torture you feel. I love your lettering, stitching, and creativity.
Scarp Therapy is the way to go! I completely understand this, I get migraines too, really, bad ones, trying to explain it to someone who doesn't get them is impossible, there just aren't words. Love this layout, props!
Your layout caught my eye when I saw it in the gallery, so I had to click on it to see the larger picture and what it was about. I too get the awful aura before the headache begins and I think you portrayed the whole thing really well in your layout. I know when I tell people about this aura thing they all look at me like I'm crazy, lol. I'm with you, I'd pay good money to never see it again. Great layout!
I'm so sorry you suffer from migraines. While I do get them, they are few and far between. I hope that getting that down is at least therapeutic for you. That monster should be squeezing a head. :)
Great layout about a significant part of your life. I agree with Lynne that the monster is a great addition. I hope that a treatment can be found. My mom suffered from migraines too.
wow-what a creative way to express something like this! my daughter gets migraines and they knock the heck out of her.I've heard of the auras, but she doesn't get them. The titlework is absolutely fabulous and I love the monster peeking over the top!..very cool LO;sorry it has to be because of something so awful though!
This layout is an attempt to portray what migraines feel and look like to me. I am one of the few "lucky" people with migraines to get an "aura" before the headache begins. After years of trying to describe it to people, I was browsing through Michael's the other day and saw the square beads. Migraine was the first thing I thought of and this is the best rendition of an aura that I could come up with. It is made of square metal beads, cardstock stars, silver metallic thread, and glitter rick-rack.
I've heard people say they would pay good money to see one of these once because they are so bizarre. I would pay good money to never see it again.
