wow , some story , you had to be heart broken when he said that,. but you did right, i would have too, lov e the lo the colors, well i love bright colos . it is wonderful and a fav! hugs
Congratulations. Beautiful design! Sad about the dog though. but if he was truly mean, you made the right decision. Adjustments are hard for dogs, but with training they usually do good, and as your found out, adjustments are hard for kids too. How sad he thought you might get rid of him. He connected himself with the dog. Too bad you couldn't call the Dog Whisperer! He's amazing with animals and because of him, I can walk all 3 of my dogs together even with my daughter-in-laws dogs and a friends dog - all 6 together - because of the dog whisperer!!
Whoa Marlene. That story is very telling. Kids are amazing in their thought processes, aren't they? I am loving your Cricut swirls, and the Ambrosia papers are fantastic. Look at you all pregnant and with fiery red hair. Yeah, baby!
Oh, wow, what a story. We just never know how kids will take things, do we? You are the queen of hidden journaling! I can never find it, it's never obvious, like I do. I had to go back and look for it after reading your description. Fantastic page.
Love what you have done with the 2 different papers in scallop circle, and the shadow effect on flourishes, really makes them pop, you've done a great job of this design, love it.
What a touching story!!!!! Poor baby. I know he is all grown now but still poor baby. Love the circle mat and the stitching around it and on the edge of the pp. Great title mix and colors!!!!!!
Marlene, I really like how the swirl matches dh's shirt! The buttons are awesome and I love all of the stitching. Awesome journaling, heartbreaking story!
There is journaling hidden underneath the red scallop circle: This picture was taken late July, 1987, a couple weeks before Matty was born. Kyle was 28 months old.
Around Kyle's second birthday, we had to have a dog put down because we couldn't find another home for her and she did not adjust to a toddler. I saw her lunge at Kyle, barely missing him, there was no delay and no decision between a dog and my son.
Shortly after, Kyle started to wake up screaming from nightmares and didn't quite have the language skills yet to tell us what was wrong. Explaining it's just a dream to a two year old is tricky at best. We did not associate the dog problem with the nightmares for a couple months. We were riding in the car and Kyle said, “You got rid of Margaret because of me, right?” I told him it wasn't his fault she was a bad dog. Then he replied, “Does that mean you will get rid of me when the baby comes?”
I pulled him out of his car seat and into hug him to let him know how much we loved him. We reassured him that he was not going to be replaced and that the love would just get bigger. The nightmares stopped, but this brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it.
P.S. It was the only time he was taken out of his car seat until he was old enough to use a seat belt.
