Another vacation 2 pager. The photos are not faded IRL. Journaling: Situated on a mountain in a cloud forest, Selva Negra translates as Black Forest. German immigrants started a coffee plantation there in the late 19th century. You can buy their Fair Trade coffee at Whole Foods in the U.S. The property is still in the same family, subsequent generations have developed a resort as well as the coffee. At daybreak we hiked into the forest to find the Howler Monkeys (upper right photo), it was quite an experience. After breakfast Ken & Kyle decided they wanted to take a longer, more challenging hike and I bowed out. They were gone four hours walking the ridge that is in the picture on the upper left. Kyle is used to walking and in excellent shape so he took the arduous trek in stride. Ken, on the other hand, was fine but visibly tired. I have never seen him happier. He was positively beaming to have been able to do that with his son. I used a sketch from Everything About Scrapbooking.com
