Pictures of my father from his Navy days. Journaling: Jerrel C. White, at 17 years old, enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. He trained as a tail gunner because he could fit in the rear of a plane wearing all of the gear. Since the war was over by the time he got to Okinawa, he ended up as clerk & developed exceptional typing skills. Those skills got him a civilian job at a company from which he eventually retired.
