I love all the meaning you put into each of the elements!! And it all works so well together somehow. Esp. love how you did the name plaque. Just gorgeous!
There's a lot going on and it works together beautifully. With every glance I see something new. There's just enough white space to draw your attention to the main attraction, the photo.
Oooh this is gorgeous! Love all the attention to detail and your description explaining the meaning of everything on this beautiful layout is fantastic!
Wow, I love all these meaningful elements! Super nickname. I love the handcut scrolls, the recipe page, the bat, the feather... just everything. Great pic. Nice work!
This is sooo beautiful but I expect nothing less from you my dear. She has alot of nicknames like my little boy. He told someone his name was Bubba Keith Dookie Sadler.LOL He use to dig in his diaper and dookie kinda stuck.LOL I am glad you are enjoying your goodies. Do you want some more?LOL After my big cleaning today I found alot of stuff. Is that paper up in the corner really buttons or is it a piece of paper. Anyways this is so beautiful!! XOXOXOXO
That is so funny, as soon as I opened this, I thought this looked like a LO your daughter would make, then I read your description and saw you were inspired by her style ... no surprise there I guess, she's making wonderful LO's!! I really like this one Shawn, it has all my favorite colours in there, and it all comes together so very well. I love her picture too, and though I don't know her, I'm guessing you captured the essence of her personality very well. Into my favs for sure!!
My dd has several nicknames, and the story behind each is on the hidden pull-tag with checked ribbon. The one she has had the longest is Zubie. She used to call her pacifier a 'zu-zu', don't know why! (sounds like zoozoo). Somehow this morphed into us calling her Zubie. She is also called 'scooter'; and that has a funny story attatched. One day she was out riding her scooter, and Daddy went outside to call her in for dinner. She was in the cul-de-sac, talking to another child & her scooter was just sitting beside her. I went outside to see where dh & dd were, and I heard my dh call out, "scooter!, scooter!" He was reminding her to bring it with her and come home, but she & I thought he was calling HER scooter! LOL So the name stuck! This style is a bit of Miss Skellington & bit of 2Dogs...thanks for the inspiration! I used a page from my MIL's old cookbook to make the title plaque. And, OF COURSE, I chose the section with baked potatoes because my dd loves baked potatoes!! I also included items from Fall, because that is her favorite season. There is a vellum bat, for Halloween which she enjoys, & it fulfills the twist for the Nickname Challenge. I used brown silk ribbon, a feather strip, inked a silk leaf, and used copper colored pp for the bg. Oh, and I added beautiful lace under the photo...merci, Lavona Kay! I hand cut the flourishes, although I put so much on you can barely see the bottom one! TFL!
