good heavens... I can understand why your neighbor moved. we get more than our fair share of wind here in FL, too! love how you split the one photo up, cool idea!
Very cool idea! I forgot about that song. Its a great one for this event though.
We get similar winds. They don't have a name, not one I can repeat in here at least;) I have my own names for them and I have lost the same things except trees because ours come when trees are bare already most of the time. I have had my yard filled with tumbleweeds, and dry corn husks at different times. Such a PAIN!
Wow -- where do I start? I love that you split the bottom photo into 2 -- looks great, and I love all the leaves that have 'blown' off the tree you made!! What cart did you use in the Cricut? Mine is new, and I'm still compiling a list of the carts I want -- Mother's Day is right around the corner!! LOL!
Wonderful layout-I used to live in Riverside-so I know the Santa Ana's! Upside-no smog!!! This inspires me to create a Lo on a tree that fell (BIG TREE!) blocking the road in front of our house. Love your cut circle!!
Very cool! I love the leaves and photos! I don't miss the Santa Ana's at all! I moved to the Lake Tahoe area from So. CA about 5 years ago. I do miss the beaches though!
love the tree and the wind blown leaves! how creative! and yes, I have seen the Santa Ana winds, and they are nothing to sneeze about!!! lol! Those pics prove that!!!!!
You are so clever with your titles!! Love it!! What a genius you are to split the larger photo in two...now I wouldn't have thought about doing that! This is a beautiful page!
I just wanted to let you know that I am using your l/o as an example for a challenge I am hosting. Stop by and participate. http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/1501015/
wow! what a lovely LO. Being a brit I had never heard of the Santa Anas before.. not only do I get to see a lovely LO here but I have learnt something new today too :) tfs!
this is an awesome layout! Boy those winds are a pain!! They kept waking me up the other night!! I really like how you made the leaves "blow" across the page!!
Love the design of this. The tree is great. For us in Cental Coastal California when the Santa Anas blow down south it gives us off shore light winds that are warmer than usual. Makes for a nice days here but at a great expense for you guys.
Love all the marvelous detail on this page!!! splitting that photo into 2 smaller photos gave it sooooo much more impact and interest!! Great circle, leaves and colors!
I've never heard that Beatles song so I've learned something! The winds sound incredible - its rare for us to have anything like that here! Great photos show the power of those gales.
If you live in So California you are familiar with these annual warm winds that blow down fences, rip off roof shingles, upend patio furniture and play havoc with your allergies! LOL They howl and shake our house at night (that's when they are the strongest), so our Haitian neighbor moved because it reminded him of his native dreaded hurricanes!
The blue bg paper actually has stylized clouds all over it, but they are difficult to see in this photo.
I used; *sketch LQ2 by Q-Diggity *Cricut to cut tree, leaves, ring *inks *label maker *Bazzill flower
The sketch called for two smaller photos at the bottom of the ring, so I just split one photo of a huge fallen branch! The lg vertical photo shows all the branches, twigs and leaves that fill ALL the gutters in town after a night of Santa Ana Winds.
In the 1800's, the Santa Ana Winds destroyed a church in Orange County. We have lost roof shingles, window screens, and trees/plants due to gusts over 70 mph.
Entered this is the Lyric Challenge (The Beatles)...Lend Me Your Comb is a song they recorded! LOL
