Colors and landscape vary so much here..ecology is so important and respect for the ocean is reinfoced by tsunami evacuation routes dotting the coastlines. Just as powerful and equally unpredictable are the volcanoes..one erupted a week after we left!...when they are dormant..VOG..our equivalent of fog (created by vocanic ashes) is a constant reminder of the areas geologic foundations. Its not uncommon to see rainbows here and if you are lucky you'll see a double rainbow..this one was spotted on Maui!
