WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are really rockin' these heritage lo's & I am so enjoying reading about the pix! Beautiful work!!! I couldn't help but notice her tiny waist!!!!!!!!
I love your Aunt Tillie! You told her story beautifully and future generations will know her through you also. This is what scrapbooking is all about! Every detail on this page is perfect!
OHMYGOODNESS~ I just LOVE this photo of your great aunt!!! LOVE it. I think she is a beautiful woman, and she looks so stylish in the clothing of her day. Cool shirtwaist!!!!!! I think it would be so elegant and fun to wear. I also like the texture of the velvety flowers and the pretty hand cut stamped branches. I love it when you add those to pages. My favorite thing, though, aside from Aunt Tillie's photo is the information you have about her. OUTstanding! It brings her to life!! TFS this sweet piece of your family puzzle, Patty~ xxxxx
This lo is gorgeous. And what a Lady~~` Thanks for telling us about her. So many untold stories tucked into boxes and stored in attics and under beds. their stories need to be told and shared.
Inked, distressed, folded papers. Used Tim Holtz (Tarnished Brass) crackle Paint on chipboard letters. Hand cut the vine-like stamps, journaled and added my maternal grandmother's antique scrap.
The lady in the photo is my Great Aunt Tillie (Ottilia). She never married, although she was asked for her hand in marriage more than once. I think this was most likely because of the death of her sister in law, who died in childbirth, leaving two small children to care for. The little girls came to live with Aunt Tillie and her parents (my GGP). Aunt Tillie raised the two little girls, sewed for the entire family, cared for her elderly parents in later years, painted china, and was an accomplished pianist. She was a BEAUTIFUL lady, inside and out, and cared for her family more than for herself. TFL
