Wow! This is so stunning! I love the colors and the vintage feeling of this lo! Wonderful tribute and to use her favorite color is just extremely touching!
wow this is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! i love old vintage photos i just got some of my grandfathers from the 50s and i cant wait to copy and scrap them!!! this is beautiful i love it!!!
WOW Patty!!!! What a great old photo & what you did with it..................... well, all I can say is you did a marvelous job showcasing it!!! LOve the warm rich colors you used & all the detail is superb!!!! It's obvious how much you put into this!
Well, this is so gorgeous! I love the use of orange and all the embellies is perfect. She is a pretty lady...looks alot like your mom!! I loved the story...wish you had known her. Hugs - Ginger
How lovely. That is so awesome that you have old scrapbooks that she did to enjoy and pass on to other family members. of course you wouldn't remove anything and lets just hope that future generations wont tamper with hers or yours in the future. What if someone 50 years from now takes off all your flowers. LOL!!!! Not funny!!! It could happen. You need to make a note in your will about that!! Don't touch the flowers!!! LOL!!
I adored reading the journaling and loved all the work you did on this LO-all the punching and distressing plus the crackle paint-wonderful!! So cool to use "period stuff" too! jen
Patty this page is awesome, and having that box of scrap is just the neatest thing. A lot of the love went into this page. You should put this in the heritage challenge.
oh gosh a very endeering story and such a beautiful woman, gorgeous well designed lo luv your choice of color and those 2 cute lil cherubs, grandmother would have luved this
Gorgeous! I love that your grandmother scrapped! Maybe you could scan some of the things in her albums to use. How special that you have a box of things, like the cherubs, to use on your own LO's!
WOW!!! Patty I could see much love went to this wonderful page :) Love the orange and all the layers !!! The metal piece at the bottom is beautiful!!! Your Grandmother would love this:) :)
Wow what wonderful work! Love the music papers & teh treble clef!! The cherubs are a great detail & how great is it that they belonged to her! Beautiful colors too! Love this! tfs :)
What a treasure to possess such a wonderful photo of your grandmother! This is an outstanding heritage page, Patty. I particularly like the vertical lattice strip....reminds me of a garden lattice, or rose trellis, which I am sure your grandmother might see outside her window as she played the piano! Wonderful distressing, pretty flowers too. The graphic 45 is a perfect pp choice, and the punching is tres magnifique~ xxxxxxxxx
Distressed, inked, border punched and crackle painted to get a period look. Many of the embellies are from my stash, such as the heart and key, the cameo, the treble clef, the lazer-cut trellice and the metal piece at the bottom of the picture. The antique scrap of the little cherubs belonged to the lady in the portrait.
This is a portrait of my maternal grandmother. She loved beautiful music and played the piano like an angel. Her favorite color was orange and she had many albums of "scrap", as they did in those days. Granny left a box of scrap that she never used, and that's where I got the little cherubs. I feel that taking the scrap off of her albums would be disrespectful, and would never do that. She also loved antiques and was passionate about them. This LO is for my mother's album.
