Absolutely LOVE this! and I loved reading your description! What a great title...I'm glad you explained it though....although I have heard the phrase....I never really realized I had absolutely no idea what it meant...learned something new and interesting today! :) your details look FANTASTIC as well as super fun to do!!! BRAVO!!!!
Wonderful layout! A great use of textures. I love the sand! I have several of the elements you used already and now I have the inspiration too! Nice job. I am new to this forum so I am guessing that "pp" means paper, but I am not sure. Can someone please confirm or define this for me? Thanks.
I thought Flotsam and Jetsam were the bad guys in the Little Mermaid...kidding. darling layout...love the colors. I bought that pp and it's just sitting there. Maybe I will use it now. Very creative design. Love the sand on the letters.
Wow! How cool! This has a great beachy feel! COOL grass mesh, which adds variety to the kinds of texture used on this page. The shells and sand add authenticity, Patty. I like the neg space, and I especially LOVE your stamped grass. It is the first thing I noticed. I saw that it was not present on the Paradise Harbor sheet, then read that YOU added it....clever girl! Great neg space, fun punched edge. I have noticed small holes in shells and rocks along the beach, and this punched edge reminds me of natural erosion! I am so glad Lee decided to take that Bio trip~ He will love this LO, mon amie. xxx
OMG!!!! I am VERY impressed with this LO! It is absolutely STUNNING and I love the pps, the netting with all the shells, etc. OMG!!! This is unbelievable!!! I love it all!!!
So awesome and lovely Patty! Your netting, mesh, and shells totally make this rock! I love how you did the title too - it looks like you just pulled the letters out of the wet sand on the beach and they landed on your lo!! You have most certainly achieved the beachy feel here!
I thought of flotsam & jetsam from "The Little Mermaid" when I saw your title! LOL! This is so totally beautiful in every way! Your work is always awesome!!!!!
I LOVE lo's with negative space...and this looks wonderful! Very nice balance, too with the elements on left and that stamp behind adds SO MUCH...LOVE that stamp! The mesh, shells and netting bring beautiful texture to the page! Your title is FABULOUS....my favorite part!!! Thanks for sharing the technique, Patty...and I will definitely get some of that sand paste! Haven't seen it around here, but will look online! That stuff looks AWESOME!!!
This "Negative Space" LO was so much fun to do! First, I stamped the brown, coastal grass close to where I planned to put the picture. Then, I border cut and fanned the pp behind the picture. Also, (this was the most fun!!!) I adhered the grass mesh to the LO, added the netting, sand and shells. After that, I had to look up the spelling of flotsam/jetsam!!!....LOL...then, ink the chipboard letters brown, add the sand and finally used Glossy Essentials to achieve a wet look in the title. Whew!!! I think I need to TAKE A NAP!!!
BTW: In case you're not familiar with "flotsam/ jetsam", Jetsam is material that is intentionally thrown over from a boat, as in "jettisoned"cargo. Jetsam, if found, is considered the property of the finder. Flotsam is floating wreckage of a ship, and if found, belongs to the original owner.
The photo is of my DS (left) and his friends on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico.... along the Coast of Texas. He and his friends took advanced classes in botany and biology.
