JOURNALING: Nick and I had been dating six months and took our first trip together to NYC. On Sept. 10, 2001 we walked into Tiffany's on 5th Avenue and he bought me a beautiful Paloma Picasso pendant. At the time I realized what a big deal it was for him to buy me jewelry. It made me feel so loved. I'm a pretty simple person and the flower fit my style perfectly. The next day, 24 short hours later, the world changed. We were in the air flying back to Madison when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. Experiencing that history changing day with Nick made me realize that I never wanted to be without him. From that day forward my daisy pendant has been more than an accent piece that came from a fancy blue box. It's a symbol of where we were and where we're going. a symbol of how much he loved me then and how much he loves me now. A symbol reminding me that life is good. It means as much to me as my wedding ring. 7 years later I still wear this necklace nearly everyday. A
