On a beautiful sunny morning, Mummy and Sammy took Grandma to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens for a painting class excursion. While all the artists were hard at work, Sammy and Mummy went around to the lawn near the Lotus Pond. There, Sammy practised his newly mastered skills by chasing the pigeons backwards and forwards. The pigeons never seemed to mind, they would only fly a little way ahead where he could still see them. He had a marvellous time running bare-foot through the thick grass. Mummy had given him some shoes and socks, but he would NEVER keep them on.
