I agree that it is busy...but I also agree with the previous comment that busy is in style! I like your tags and overlapping. I rarely do that too, but it looks so good!
Hmmm, You ask if the lo is too busy. Now days it seems like pages can't be busy enough. The question is...what is your scrapbooking style? What do YOU like?
My favorite of all of your pages that you have submitted was the one of your baby picture (the pink one). Do you like that style the best? If so, you might try using a different background paper. Especially since you have so many photos and tags on the page. I wonder if a more solid paper or something with a smaller pattern would detract from the photos less?
But if you like the other pages better, which are a different style but still great pages on their own, then this one is true to that style. No one can tell you what style to like.
I think that you have learned to do new things (using tags & great job with the photo overlap) and you are refining your style and doing a great job at it! (This is something that I am struggling with right now. I am trying to improve and find my "style.")
Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more of your lo's! And again, Great Work!
This is cute... I'm with you--gutless when it comes to overlapping, but it really looks good that way! I like your fun bright colors too.. they match his clothes!!
This is a busier page than I am used to doing, and I have also been brave and finally OVERLAPPED a photo!!!! (I'm so proud of that!) I really enjoyed making the title, and I can't believe that i've made another TAG - I've always liked them, but I'm putting them on EVERYTHING at the moment. The medal is a scan of the original, printed out and then coloured over with silver pen.
Journalling reads:
On Wednesday, 8th December 2004, we celebrated Sammy's Special day at the Nairne CPC. Sammy wore a special medallion for the day, which he helped to make. Mummy came in at 11am with fruit to share & some photos of Sammy. Jill Hardy talked to the class about Sammy from pre-conception, through to birth & how pleased we all were that he had arrived. We then talked about learning things like crawling, eating, & walking, right up to the very special little boy that we all know at kindy. Mummy couldn’t resist bringing in his new scrapbook page - finished the night before in honour of the event. Sammy then got to share around the fruit platter - Watermelon, Kiwi & Rockmelon, before it was time to pack up and go home.
Notice the scrapbook in the background of the photo!! lol
So what's the verdict - too busy? Just right? Not busy enough?
