I had this reaction when I was about 8 or 9... and my friend had to go to the hospital bc of them! she and I never picked them up again! hope he feels better now! poor little guy!!

Sam and THE SPOTS

Sam picked a fight with a wolly worm, a white hair one to be exact. He picked it up and rolled it around on his hand and wrist. The resulting rsh spread all over his body and was VERY ITCHY and it BURNED! My ds has LOTS of allergies so we sort of, well..FREAKED OUT because his breathing became weazy......After a trip to his doctor, we got an education in all hairy worms...lol....some people have a reaction to the toxins they told us, some don't. But my ds had a reaction that stayed for 2 months....lots of meds later, he is better now..we hope. And no more playing with hairy worms either..lol...
