Hidden journalling Reads:

She grew up in the Bronx. I grew up in Orlando. She likes to go out and dance on the weekends. I like to stay home and scrap. She is turning 40 in May. I’m still over 2 years from hitting 30. She has four daughters (two of them are already grown!) and an adopted son. I can barely keep up with two dogs and a cat. But she and I have one thing in common—we are twins!!!
We met four years ago when I started teaching at Dundee Ridge. She was my teaching partner and we had the same set of Exceptional Education students. She taught me everything I needed to know about teaching—most importantly, what to worry about and what not to worry about! I know I wouldn’t have made it through that first year (much less, the last four) without her friendship keeping me sane.
We may not look like twins, but we’ve convinced our students that we are. We’ve come to school dressed alike. (Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not!) What’s scary is that sometimes we say the same things to the kids at the exact same time! For those students that doubted our twinness, they soon believed.
On this day, being the girly one of the two of us, I asked her to fix my makeup. She came to my house and was completely panicking about everything. Will I get there on time? Would I do it right? Oh my gosh Melissa’s getting married! I can’t believe it! She brought along her new boyfriend Greg and he tried his hardest to calm her down. When I met him for the first time (about an hour before the wedding, while she was still in her panicky state), I was totally calm and relaxed. I said hi to him and thanked him for coming, and told him that I was the woman who threatened to beat him up if he treated her badly. It was almost as if our roles were reversed. Shouldn’t I have been the one freaking out about the wedding?
I love this picture of the two of them. I really hope that Janet finds as much happiness with Greg as I have with Bryan. She sure the heck deserves it!!!
