I know i am not one of your sb.com friends but Congrats on your design team entry acceptance. And I will be sure to stop by the new site and check you guys out.
Awww, Peggy congrats on becoming a DT member, that must be so exciting! I checked out the site and saw your awesome LO! This LO is very unique, super job with the doodled bubbles! Your work is truly creative! :)
OMG Peggy! This is so awesome!!! I'm totally lovin' the concept and the windows in front of the glasses are a stroke of genius. And yes, I notice those stickles on the title right next to that minipulated glass, which is also awesome. LOVE THE WHOLE THING ;)
Really amazing!! I love how you put the glass of water over and over behind the windows and the sun coming up behind them looks awesome. I also really like how you wrote the lyrics over and over...it really adds something to the overall effect. Love it!
So cheerful, My glass is always half empty!! ha! ha! I need to change that too!! I can't master messiness either, everything of mine is straight and structured and balanced too.... maybe that should be my New years Resolution!!xxx
I love this. I think its funky. Love what you did with the glasses and the sun! You did a great job! I might have to lift this, if I can do as good of a job as you did. Definitely going into my faves!
Well, you definately Aced the Funky look!!! I understand your challenge.............. doing the "messy, collage" look! I can't master it at all!! This is awesome & I love what you did with all the glasses!!!
A really innovative lo; like you, Peggy, I like straight lines and structure - but you've really pulled off your objective in this one. And, my! You have been SO busy lately!
This is soooooooo creative! Looking at the glass half full...peering through the windows to see the glasses...I'm old and slow, but now I'm getting it! Too cool. You deserve the DT opportunity, girl!!
What a fun layout! Love the cutouts of the buildings-congrats for being chosen and thanks for always sharing the details of your design so we can copy you! : )
Big congrats Peggy!!! What a great theme and creative LO (I should do one like this too.....). I really like this style on you, you really deserved to be in that DT!!!!!!!
I made this LO for a DT call over at Song Bird Scraps (http://songbirdscraps.blogspot.com/) , and I got accepted!!! I'm excited but nervous!! I do hope some of my friends here at scrapbook.com will visit this new place and enter in one of the challenges ... it would be so nice to see a familiar face!!!
The lyrics are so true, and I so need to handle this fact better, I need to look at the glass as being half full. So I decided that would be the theme of my LO. I really wanted this LO to have somewhat of a funky look. I'm still experimenting with this style, and I would like it to be a bit more of a mess, even when trying to be funky I can't seem to get away from straight lines or some sort of balance and structure. I would love to be able to just shake that off, but I guess that will take some time and a little bit more self-confidence!
Now I have to admit this design isn't all mine ... I've seen this design of the sun coming up through the buildings done several times before by others, and I stuck in my head. It's also very similar to the banner of the challenge site "scrap the boys", where they had a challenge doing a LO inspired by this banner, so I guess that's how the idea got into my head in the first place.
I only use cardstock for this LO. I printed the text onto white cardstock, tore the paper and adhered it to the white background. I doodled the bubble-border and for the blue sky I used Ranger distress ink. I outlined the title with stickles.
