Just cruising through your vintage layouts. This is totally fabulous! My Dad saw and met the Andrews Sisters. Maybe I'll try something like this. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great layout! My dad was a B25 pilot in WWII and I've done loads of layouts for an album dedicated to him. This one is fab! Really appreciate the hard work you did; I know, 'cause I do the same !
I love that you have pp by 'father knows best'! for your dad's picture. You have made a beautiful page here, and its just fantastic. Has he seen it - I bet he'd love it if he did!
Wow! All the great adjectives have been taken. This is breathtakingly beautiful! I'm printing it out so I can appreciate it over and over today. What talent you have! Barb
this is so fabulous!!! I can look for a awhile, love all the details in this LO also, who well you distress all the elements to go with the photo, this one for sure is a favs!! and if is ok with you I may have to scraplift the idea, thanks for the inspiration!!!
I have looked at this layout in awe seveal times and thought that I had previously commented on it. However, in looking at the list I seem to have been remiss in telling you that I LOVE THIS LAYOUT. My husband also said it's cool.
Very nice LO. I like the use of multiple photos. I think the metal numbers and the "letter to a soldier" pp add a special touch. It was a great idea using a cut out photo of your Dad's "wings" it looks so 3D realistic. What a good way to honor your Dad.
This is fantastic and I love every little detail of it. I'm impressed! Great photo of your dad too...I thought it was a photo of a movie star at first.
wow! this is such a classic layout! absolutely love every detail you put into this! love the flowers in the pin-up girl's hair! great touch! and that is one spectacular photo of your dad!!! phenomenal layout!!! great work!
This is a photo of my dad taken around 1945 when he was in the army air corps in WWII.He was a 2nd lieutenant and a bombardier. He flew 22 missions that I know of.And if I remember correctly, had nightmares about it.Anyway,I love this photo of him in his barracks surrounded by movie star pin-ups.He has such a sweet expression. I really had fun doing this lo,even though it was a bit of a pain.I had to find all the girls online, which is not as easy a task as you might think. At first,I even tried to find the same pix of stars that are in the photo!Especially the one on the back of the magazine dad's reading.I think it might be Dorothy Lamour, but not sure.I knew I wanted to cut them out,so I had to find them in just the right positions. Then print them, cut them, and ink them.I decided on 2 of Rita Hayworth,Jane Russell,Ginger Rogers, and of course no pin-up lo would be complete without the fabulous Betty Grable and her million dollar gams!I took a picture of my dad's wings, and cut those out, too. The background pp is by Dream Street,Father Knows Best collction "Rough Buff". The striped pp is MME 29th Street Market,"Silly Stripes" The pp with stars is by Creative Imaginations. The numbers are Tim Holtz. And of course I snuck in a couple of Prima flowers! Thanks so much for looking!
