This is a photo of my dad holding his wire-hair terrier,"Patches",taken around 1930-31,(I'm guessing),which would make him 8-9 yrs old.I'm pretty sure this was in front of his home in Philly.
I wanted to make this lo all about the things a boy loves, and what you might find in his pockets.I cut out the motorcycle and made it look like he was bursting through the paper. Also cut out the train, watches, and compass in the corner.I wadded up twine and actually inked it to make it look grubby. After all, what self-respecting boy would be caught dead without some sort of twine or string?Gears, screws, trains, watches, knights, soda labels, even a marble I found in the street the other day!Heck,if I had a Mary Jane wrapper, that'd be on there, too! LOL!Thanks so much for looking!
