This layout was about how worried I was as a first-time mom when the doctors took my son away from me to treat his jaundice. The journalling reads: "Within a day of Evan's birth, he had developed a case of jaundice. His bilirubin levels were high enough that he had to be taken to the hospital nursery, where he underwent phototherapy. Fortunately, he was doing well enough after 12 hours under the lights, that he was able to come back to our room. However, we had to continue to supplement each breastfeed with formula to help flush out the excess bilirubin. His face and the whites of his eyes remained yellow for almost six weeks. I was so worried that it was my fault somehow, but 60% of newborns get it."
