Here's the thing. The mohawk was supposed to be a mid summer experiment. I was sure that we would get a few laughs, a few pictures, and then shave the rest of it off a couple of days later. And then you fell in love. Yep, it’s true. You love your mohawk. You beg for me to put gel in your hair so that it will stand up longer. You sing this silly song, “Mohawk...dun dun dun.” And flex your muscles. You get mad when I kiss you on the head, saying, "mom, you're messing up my mohawk" So here we are, nearly a year later. And the mohawk is still there. It’s been longer, shorter (and you cried for two days), and briefly even blue (for Karen’s state soccer championship game). And while I still can't get myself to shave the sides completely in a “true” mohawk, I also can't bear to give you a traditional haircut. I never thought I'd be the mom of a two year old with a mohawk...but let's be honest, you make that mohawk look good! Picture July 4, 2006
