For $3 or so that the stamps cost, I decided it was worth a try. Couldn't hurt. And thanks for the complements!

I agree..cool idea...our walmart here (23 miles one way) doesn't carry any sort of alpha stamps...

Distressed Stamps

I took the Walmart ABC foam stamps and distressed them for a little more character. I heated them a bit with my heat gun and pressed an implement into them for texture (used a nut pick that I use to pry paper out of some of my cheap punches). Then I took my cutterbees and cut som little wedges out of the foam. I'll probably do more cutting on them - they need a little more character for my taste. The paint tends to pool in the heat textures (they're pretty shallow) and "skip" on the cuts.
