The fact that you made the nautical banner from card stock is awesome but even cooler still is you took the time to research how to spell out her name in International code
I am loving every last detail, but CASSIE in international code is about as brilliant as it gets! I've never used the ecuts and now you have me very curious. Awesome page!!
the details on here are amazing Lisa! Cassie will look back at this and not forget a thing! I love the banner the nautically spells her name, it is so clever!
I love this - awesome picture - she is darling! The papers and arrangements are stunning - and your embellies make this a perfect page. This is a wonderful layout!
This is Cassie's Tap & Ballet combo class portrait from 2010. They tap danced to an instrumental sea shanty type song called Symphony of the Seas. It was a show stopper! She was in five dances that year, and this was my last portrait to scrap! I still have group portrait and dress rehearsal pages to do for 4 of them as well as everything for nine dances from 2011 and eight from 2012. Sigh. You can see the LO's I've completed for this and earlier years in my Dance LO's Album in my gallery. All her professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.
This is for the October PageMaps, Etc. Challenge - Sketch 1.
Okay, I printed and fussy cut the life preserver from an e-Cut I bought here on SB.com and used rub-ons to put S.S. and the class level on it as though it were a ship's name - t&b6 stands for Level 6 Tap & Ballet. I masked a compass rose in the upper left, and I used fish net for a photo corner. I made each signal flag in the nautical flag banner from cs scraps and popped them with foam tape. They spell out her name - C A S S I E - in international code. I used square metal eyelets to look like mooring cleats, and I tied the ends of the rope to resemble boating knots. I've included a butterfly on each of her 2010 dance portraits so far, so because I'm somewhat obsessive :), I wanted to keep that up here even though it doesn't really fit the theme. I was able to find a tiny butterfly pillow sticker to put 'flying around' the door to the lighthouse.
Also, I'm submitting this one for the October Monochrome Challenge Color 4 - Magic Potion (blue). No twist.
