Pics from when we went to see Wicked in Chicago in August 2008.

I used the May Monthly Sketch Challenge Week 2 Bonus sketch.

I made the yellow brick road by mixing modeling paste with yellow acrylic paint and masking the bricks within a template I freehanded and cut out of scrap 12x12 mounting sheets. While the modeling paste was wet I sprinkled it with yellow ultrafine glitter. It looks really cool IRL. The title die cut is something I bought in a small LSS in Indiana that's OOB now.

For the record, the songs are good, but otherwise, I detest Wicked. I read the original 14 Oz novels by L. Frank Baum a bazillion times as a child, and while I understand that the copyright has expired on them, I find it repugnant that the so-called 'author' of the Wicked novel, and subsequently the musical based on that book, changed characters and storyline that he didn't even think up on his own, especially when there are 13 more books beyond The Wizard of Oz that TELL the destiny of those characters that is completely incompatible with the plot Wicked presents.
