These are photos my mom took of Cassie when my parents visited to celebrate Cassie's 14th birthday in 2011. This is only a few weeks after she started pointe, and I don't think they had even been really away from the barre yet in class. I love how hard she's concentrating to just stand there. LOL She hates these pictures, but I love that they remind her how far she's come since then. Journaling says: Cassie was excited to show Grandma & Grandpa her pointe shoes.

This is for the May Sewing Challenge. I machine stitched around the large square in the center. I think that counts for the twist. I also stitched around the edge of the lower right brown rectangle, along the top of the lace, across the bottom of the date tag, and through the center of the butterflies.

I used a September 2013 PageMap. The center banner flag on the top is an old Karen Foster sticker that says 'en pointe.' The ballerina die was a gift from LesleyC for my birthday a couple years ago. This time, I cut the dress, shoes, and ballerina out of the same pp. I put Pop-Up Foam dots under just the bottom of the skirt to make it look like layers. I edged the photos with Sharpie.
