I had a similar situation. The large doorway opening leads into my living room and when the family is in there, the TV is very distracting as well as their "noise". I wanted a wall installed. DH didn't want anything permanant in case we ever try to sell the place, the next buyer may not want a "craft room". So he suggested accordian doors. I told him so long as they were tasteful, fine. They've come a long way baby! LOL The ones he got are plastic, white-washish and great! They afford me the privacy and noise filter and are easily removed in the time of a move. They also still open which allow for air flow on the days when I want all the windows in the house open. And, he installed two so they join in the center. No annoying large bulk at one end, it's split evenly on either side and not bad at all. We got them at Lowes home center for @ $30 each.
This is the entrance to the foyer. My plan is to have some type of doors installed in the future. Right now, I have this 'wall hanging' in the opening.
