delicious looking pie--and sure hope you get the carpet fixed; we went through something similar, but it was a 1" space between the door frame and the carpet--did get it fixed
You definitely deserved that pie... and I don't like pie...unless it's the Apple Pie w/ the extra thick crumbly cinnamon crust from Oak Glen...but your photo makes it look delish!
The pie looks so yummy, but the problem with your Berber carpet is the best of the best as I have a beautiful one in my living room also, a fade resistant stain resistant carpet. Yes the color is awesome, but the time it was installed there is also a seam as my room is large and had to make two pieces. While being installed he burnt a part of the seam and for the "price" I said no way and made them tear the whole carpet out, replace with a brand new one and suck up their loss. Good for us
Oh my goodness that carpet story sounds like an ordeal! Good for you though for sticking to your guns and making them take responsibility for poor installation! The pie looks divine!
I was just going to look through the layout gallery and this was the first layout I saw. Even before I saw who made it, it caught my eye. Love the line of stars down the side. You nailed the colour scheme and I love that you included the pie in it. Love the border cut of the denim, very effective. I keep going back and looking at all the little details. Such an eye catching and inspiring page. Wow I just want to hold it to see how it all came together.
~ Celebrate the Little Things ~ like a piece of blackberrry crumble pie from The Pie Junkie in the Paseo district of Oklahoma city.
I drove all the way into the city to get this yesterday. I needed it in the worst way. The carpet installation that was done in November is bad - there's glue all over the top of the seam right down the middle of my living room. I've been fighting with the installers for weeks now, and finally yesterday they sent someone out to "fix it."
The store told me that it would be a different installer. But it was the same guy, who spent an hour telling me that it was seam sealer and that was how it was supposed to look. I finally walked out of the room, called the regional office and was put in touch with the regional manager.
He explained that Oklahoma law requires that they give him an opportunity, and that berber carpets are notoriously hard to seam, and that the guy explained to him that it was dirt...
And that was the point where I had myself a right fit. Conversation went something like : "Number 1. NOT dirt. We take our shoes off AT THE DOOR because we don't want to track dirt on the carpet. #2. We are not talking about the entire seam - we're talking about a two foot run RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY SOFA, right down the MIDDLE of my LIVING ROOM. #3. Highly visible. People comment on it when they walk in because it's the first thing you see. #4. I spent a LOT of money on this carpet and EVERYone that I spoke to, INCLUDING this guy standing here guaranteed me the seam would not show. Have you seen the photos that I sent to Misty?"
No, he hadn't see them. So I said, "let me send them to you right now..." It ended with him giving me his PERSONAL cell phone number and begging me NOT to call him at home PLEASE. To which I said, "of course not. That would be inappropriate. This is business and home is home. But this is not a standard seam, which would be reasonable. This is a bad installation job and this guy does NOT want to fix it."
So after the entire morning wasted - I got in my truck, which needed gas and air in the tires - and drove all the way into the city to get pie. Because ... well, pie.
And this coming Monday, there is a team of department heads coming to visit my house on a site inspection to see things for real and make a decision about how to fix it. So, stay tuned for round two (or three or seven...)
~ This is for my Weekly Anything Goes Challenge - which had some fun specs. 1. Colorstrology Profile ~ Baja Blue & Autumn Leaf 2. Chinese Birth Year Sign ~ ROOSTER ~ letters in the title 3. Fixed Element ~ Metal (the little metal heart brad) 4. A Weekly celebration for this week (National Pie Day).
It was a fun project to create, and any project that lets me eat PIE has got to be a good project!
