This is just a precious page and memory. I got a kick out of him wanting to wear a "piano suit" like Bugs Bunny. Ha! I love the design on this and the claen look of the black and white paper with punches of red and the cute scallop borders. When I first saw this in your gallery, I assumed you were doing a play on words for piano suite. Then I saw that you really were do a LO about a piano suit! :-) This story is so sweet and he looks so handsome. You must have been very proud.
Hey Lori - this is wonderful! What a proud mom you must have been. Great that you were able to incorporate all the photos - the black and white combination is perfect!
What an absolutely elegant and sweet LO!!!! I love all of the wonderful photos, and you matted them perfectly! Gorgeous black/white/red combo!!! I also love the story, so sweet - TFS!!!
Great color combo, Lori! Love the combination of the different border punches... and of course the piano keyboards in the background. So many different details to look at! Michael looks so proud in these pictures.
This is wonderdful. The tux embelly and the strip of piano keys are perfect embellishments. Love the photos and he looks so cute in his piano suit. I can imagine how you felt watching your little guy in a tux playing the piano at a recitl. Beautiful layout!
This is adorable....oops....I'll bet he won't like that. But it is!! How sweet that he knew exactly how he wanted to look. Congrats that you have a pianist in the family. I took for years and now my piano has dust on it! You did a great job here. I'm sure the glitter makes it look just perfect! Nice job on the editing!
How elegant! Love how formal and clean this page is! The colours are just perfect, and the photos are just precious! AWESOME job with editing!! He is just so handsome in his suit!!
This is a great lo, Lori. I just love the black, white and red theme which is all so nicely balanced. That piano keyboard is lovely as is that white spiral on the red background; and how impressive that Michael gave his first recital when he was just 7 - brilliant!
Stunning lo!!! Such a handsome young man. Awesome journaling, you always have such great journaling, thats a challenge for me. Love the tuxedo embelly.
What a sweet story behind this neat page. At my first recital, a bee flew up my big legged pants and stung me on the knee. I was about 10 or so. Made me remember the day for sure!
AWWWW this is so nice.. I wish my children had the chance to learn the piano. You must be so proud. How old is he now and does he still play?? I just love piano music. I've always wanted to play the baby grand that they sell at Costco..
so cute would fit perfectly and with all the other instruments my kids DO play.. they might acutally take an interest in it.. Maybe someday.
Wow! Your photo editing is AMAZING! You will have to share your secrets! I have a great shot of my girls and my dh, but he wasnt' ready for the photo! LOL! I'd love to be able to 'remove' him! Love this layout. Even though you stayed away from embellies, there are so many intricate details! Love the little keyboard runner and the different kinds of borders that you combined; the scallops, the stars, the weaving rope. Great colours and fabulous design. You always put so much thought into your pages and it shows in the final product! Great layout!
Fantastic lo.....I love the piano, And for him to play at 7 thats so awesome!!! Love the paper, and the colors, and the photos are awesome, he is so handsome!!!
Absolutely adorable! What a good daddy Scott is to know exactly what Michael was talking about...and the Bugs Bunny reference is hysterical!! I love these pages about your boys, Lori. We get a glimpse into what great parents you are and the special relationship you have with each of the boys. Beautiful job on the photo editing too!
Aaww Lori, this is just so precious! What a elegant lo with a touch of fun!! You have captured this memory beautifully! Love all the embellies here and that piano keyboard and the tux is a fantastic touch!! Michael looks so proud of himself!!! LOL! love everything here my friend! Wonderful job!
Oh Lori, I love this, How cute Piano suit, what beautiful journalinga and a wonderful lo,
love the colors and the photo's are beautiful fabulous job my friend, as always!!!
I think that color combo is one of my favorites!! Your photo editing is awesome...such a sweet memory to scrap...and I'm glad you journaled about it! Sweet layout!!!
I love the "piano suit" and the black, white and red! The layout is formal and elegant while still maintaining an air of playful lightheartedness. (See, Mrs. Bean - I'm being an art critic too!) In short, it's a winner!
When Michael was 7 yrs old, he had his first piano recital. He told us that he wanted to wear a 'piano suit'. Scott (DH) knew exactly what Michael was talking about: a tuxedo with tails! Isn't that sweet?
I wanted to create a formal LO with minimum embellies. I also wanted to include all 4 photos. The gray design in the pp is very glittery IRL but doesn't show up well here at all.
What took so long to create this LO was the photo editing of the top left and bottom right photos. There were a couple of people behind Michael and I edited them out!! Of course, if I had paid more attention to distracting background back then, I wouldn't have that problem in the first place!
Journaling reads: "Michael, at age 7 you took piano lessons with Jean Mason, owner of Musical Notes Studio in Oswego, NY. You had an upcoming Spring Recital. You informed us that you wanted to wear a 'piano suit'. Daddy replied 'Oh, you mean like Bugs Bunny wears when he plays a piano.' You smiled and replied 'Yes!' We rented a tuxedo with tails for you. The recital was held at Faith United Church. You played 'Quiet River' and 'Chopsticks, Anyone?' Michael looked so handsome. What a dashing and debonair young man!"
