Back to Disney...& finally some journaling! Not such a great start to the Disney experience...bad mommy! Journaling:So...here we are. The Magic Kingdom. The happiest place on earth. I wanted this to be the perfect trip. So, I read the guide books and previewed all the rides. I had a plan. Our first ride would be Buzz Light Year’s Space Ranger Spin. I’d checked & double-checked & this was definitely a ride you would enjoy. You see, you can be a bit apprehensive when it comes to rides, so this would be the perfect way to ease you into 3 days of Disney magic. We head off to find Buzz Lightyear when I see it. Only a 5 minute wait for Stitch’s Great Escape. OK, the little guy on my right shoulder says, “No wait! That’s not the plan! Remember, this was on the list of rides you thought might be too much for Brady!” But the little guy on my left shoulder chimes in, “Five minutes? How can you pass that up? Besides, Brady loves Stitch. He had no problem meeting Stitch on his first trip to Disney! You’ve got to seize the opportunity!” I’ve watched enough cartoons in my life to know that I should’ve listened to that guy on my right shoulder, the one with the with the shiny halo. But instead, I went right through the turn-style with that horned devil on my left shoulder cheering me on. I ignored the sign that warned that portions of the ride are in the dark and that it may be frightening to younger children. Big mistake. The ride was a disaster...loud, dark, stinky, even a little wet. Everything that you hate! You cried & pleaded through the whole ride & I thought I had ruined any chance of making this a magical trip for all of us. But as soon as we were able to free ourselves, I apologized for not paying attention to the warning signs (and that angelic little guy on my right shoulder, for that matter). I promised that I would not take you on another single ride that might frighten you. No more scary, dark rides. And you trusted me. We headed off to the Indy Speedway, which you loved, and we were back on track!
