And I'm back... again... hopefully I'll be staying awhile this time!

This is a LO I've been meaning to do for years. This picture was taken at the end of my daughter's first meeting with my dad and his wife. We visited for 4 days and she bonded almost instantly to both of them. Looking back on this picture their eyes just all popped out so much and that lead to the journaling:

Looking at a picture like this, you would think 'wow, those blue eyes passed straight down from her grandparents'. Unfortunately, you don't share blood ties with either of these people. Fortunately, that doesn't matter. Both of these people are in our lives not because of family ties, but because they want to be. This man may have not helped bring me into the world, he may not have even entered my world until I was two, but that hasn't stopped him from being around the last 20 years, or from welcoming my own children into his heart. The beautiful woman standing beside him has a family and life of her own, yet she opened her heart to us and completed our worlds without us knowing we needed it. They are yet another set of grandparents that will teach you invaluable lessons throughout your life. The first one began before you were born: family has nothing to do with genetics and blood ties, it has everything to do with love.
