These photos are proof that every moment is precious... This was the last time we would ever visit with Great Grandma during our earthly lives. We enjoyed our time together this day, and were all emotional.
Sylvia played her violin for Grandma for the first time, having had her first lesson the week before. She was excited to share with Grandma, knowing violin had been her instrument too, once upon a time. She played "Hot Cross Buns" and other simple songs for her, and Grandma smiled and hummed along.
Annah played a Bach piece she'd been working on, and then "America, the Beautiful." Grandma closed her eyes and just wept as she listenened. Kramp cried too, knowing how much music, the violin, the legacy, her family meant to her...It was so touching.
After the girls put away their violins, we talked about the weather and the flowers and animals we'd seen recently. Grandma told us of flowers she'd been given for her birthday a week and a half before, and that she'd enjoyed Mom's roses until that day.
She seemed exhausted, and was having al ot of trouble breathing, even with oxygen on all the time. Now I wonder if she knew even then that this would be our last visit? We were so grateful for this precious and lovely visit. Love you Grandma...
