I love the idea of a literary theme for this album- it is so clever! This is a great first page. I love the distressing and the way you looped the title around the picture.
Oh my GOSH! This is BEAUTIFUL! I love these precious pics and the way that you are planning on doing this album is so amazingly unique...CONGRATS AGAIN!
What a wonderful memory for you and your son to enjoy years from now. I love the journaling-very touching, (yes I am at work with red eyes now! lol). I see from the comments some like the red, some do not...have you tried maybe a rust or burgundy. I think you've done a great job!
I really like the literary theme. Ultra sound pics are so special. IMO the red heart doesn't seem to blend well with the page. I would use a burgundy or a more muted shade rather than a brighter clean color. I wouldn't change anything else, though! Great work. :)
I LOVE ultrasound layouts!!! This is a beautiful example, Amy! The red heart is a great, eyecatching accent! I can't wait to see what titles you choose for future layouts.
OMGoodness this is soooo precious and beautifully done Amy!! I have to agree with Jasmine about the heart. It kind of takes away from the pic's you have placed very nicely upon the totally awesome design. Muting it would be the perfect touch!! I also love the font you used for your title!! This is so going to be a very precious album. Very nice start to a wonderful album!! wtg!!
I am seriously at a loss for words this is so sweet and precious. This lo is glowing w/ heart and love. Your journaling is supremely lovely! What a treasure this album is-even in it's begining - Love this lo! :)
Very Cute. Maybe with the heart, you could distress it with a walnut color to tone down the brightness just a touch. The theme is great and Love the vintage look. Good Job.
Wow. This is such a creative idea. Your journaling is awesome. I agree that maybe a different shade of red for the heart. I'm sure the true colors may not be coming across, but it looks like the background of the ultrasound is a burgandy tone so I think that's why the red seems a little bright. You could also move it up and over slightly attaching it to the sonogram photo, so that it dangles from it. Possible use a matching shade of red in a ribbon and attach 2 folded over pieces (staple) to the left upper side of the same sono photo, so they extend horozontally. Or maybe some other red element as suggested earlier. Good Luck. It is truely an awesome idea. Melisa
I love the literature theme! This page looks very nice, I love how you accentuated the word "boy" and included the red heart for a punch of color. I do have one small suggestion, maybe you could put like 3 tiny red brads in the upper left hand corner to offset the heart. Even so it looks great! Awesome first page for the baby book!!
wow Amy! You're going off to a great start! I love this page! Just a suggestion, perhaps you can mute the color of the heart too, perhaps a lighter color of red? Otherwise, this is just perfect!
I finally got to scrap the first page in the baby's book. Since his middle name will be based on a literary character (Horatio Hornblower), I decided to go with a literary theme for his baby album (meaning all titles will have some link to literature).
I wanted the colors in this lo to be muted, and I used the book print transperancy to play on the literature theme.
The journaling reads: Who am I? You will undoubtedly ask yourself this questions numerous times in your life. I cannot tell you what answers you will find then, but I can tell you this right now: You are a miracle growing inside of me. You are the sibling I wished for your brother. You are strong and unique, even so early in the game. You are a little baby boy made out of love. You are the completion of our family. You are beautiful. You are YOU!
Products used: Lil' Davis Designs Transperancy pp, Paper Pizzaz pp, and Scrapworks ribbon.
BTY: the oval around the word boy is actually a clear, raised oval with a black outline, but doesn't show up that way in the scan.
Thanks for looking :)
Okay, I made a couple of slight changes: I distressed the heart, so it wasn't such a bright red, and I added a single red photo corner for balance :)
