The Blessing
From today, you are no longer two independent units but one and what God has joined together, let no man put asunder. And for as much as you have committed your love to each other and you have declared the same by giving and receiving of rings and by joining of hands; I pray that God will bless you and keep you. May He cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you.
May God lift up His covenant upon you and give you all his peace. I pray that God will bless the works of your hands, may he expand your fiances and I pray that no sickness will come near your dwelling. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
The Rings
This ring represents many things including the unity which takes place when two persons become married. Two lives become one. From today, you are no longer two independent units but one so you are not allowed to speak like single persons anymore. Single persons uses words like I, my, me, etc. From today, you will be using words like us, ours, we, etc.
These rings also represent the love which brought you two together here today. The love is not a feeling but a deep commitment. There are days in marriage when you will not feel married, but these rings will remind that the commitment of love goes beyond a mere feeling.
And then we said to each other: with this ring, I pledge my life and love for you; in the nam of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
