Wow! What an amazing photo! I agree with Aprilbaby below, using black as the bg paper certainly made for an impressive photo. I enjoyed your journaling as well. A very awesome photo!
I LOVE this photo, and your lo! It's great that you used a black background because this sure made the photo very impressive and made the blue in that really come alive! Adding anything else to this would have taken away from the photo! Great job!
Heceta Head Lighthouse Just north of Florence, Oregon
My son, Ryan, took this photo at night when he was 13!! We had just bought him a Canon 20D and it was his first photo shoot!! He left the shutter open, so he was able to catch the light as it was going around!! I LOVE this photo and I'm a proud mom too!! :)
LOCATED north of Florence.
HISTORY... The lighthouse opened in 1894 and is one of eleven on the Oregon Coast.
THE LIGHT is a 392-prism British-made Fresnel lens, equaled to 80,000 candle power. Its visibility, 21 miles from shore, is limited only by the curvature of the earth.
THE LIGHTKEEPERS had a difficult task trying to keep the light flashing once every minute from sunset to sunrise. They had to manually wind the clock; and in order to keep the wicks burning, they had to haul coal oil from the fuel houses up the tower. Then there was always soot on the lens of the lamp to clean off.
This is the most photographed lighthouse in all of the United States.
