Journaling? One of Dan's "want to do" items was going to Mike's Beach Resort. He has many memories associated with this spot. Time spent in child and adulthood with his parents and siblings. He told me tales of time spent swimming, hunting for oysters and crabs- often without appropriate adult supervision! He told me that they often stayed at the campgound a little way up the road and that he and his siblings were allowed to walk- unsupervised!- across the highway to get to the resort. This Momma's heart was unbelieving! Dan was insistent on swimming out to the boat that was an icon to him and all Mike's Beach Resort alumni. He admitted the water was cold, but he soldiered on, mainly to throw it at Darrell's face. :) I've slept on an ocean front room and found it restful, however, for whatever reasons, i did not sleep well this night at the lake. The susurrations right outside our window kept me up all night. The night shot of the moon is because I was awake to see it. I do not regret a thing at all about visiting this spot, because i could see that it brought back so many memories for Dan.
