For the Stalker Challenge over at Scraps of Darkness. The object was to stalk for a favorite quote and scrap it in a way that makes the viewer feel that quote. One of my all-time favorite quotes is by John Muir 'The mountains are calling and I must go...' I've already made clear I'm a very nature/earthy person. I grew up in Washington State where your never more than an hours' drive from mountains, including my favorite Mt. Rainier. In this case though, I felt the quote referred to my looove of skiing. I learned to ski on WA slopes and taught skiing for two years there. My heart just sings when I'm standing on top of a mountain getting ready to drop into a run of fresh powder. (I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it! *sigh*) This photo was taken at Mammoth Mtn in 2010. DH and I had season passes for three years there and typically went for 4-6 days at a time. It sometimes still amazes me to be skiing under crystal clear skies in California, but if you've ever skied a typical day in WA, you know what I mean! ;) Being pregnant and unable to ski, I'm sure I'm just really missing it, but I know in my heart I'll be back (w/ or w/o junior! LOL) It's in my blood and bones as it is in my dh's and just like the quote says, the mountains are calling... and I must go!

This is also for the Cricut Challenge (including twist!) I finally learned how to weld on my Gypsy and welded the word 'must' in the title. I also cut the white snowflakes using the Gypsy Wanderings. Also cut the blue piece using the Elegant Edges cart.

I used about 50/50 Scraps of Darkness goodies as well as some items from my stash - including the new doily punch I got! I debated cutting out myself from a black/white version of the photo and popping it up over the color photo, but it distracted from the beauty of the mountains so I nixed it.
TFL!
