I’m finally starting a family album and this LO is going on the first page. The photo is one of our engagement shots. The photo was desaturated slightly in photoshop to give a softer feel. In this LO I did a few things that I have never done before or even seen done before in scrapbooking and thought of on my own (although I’m sure I’m not the first to try these things). For example, the lace around the hearts is a new technique for me. Also, the lace going through the heart is a new technique. If you look very closely you can also see the bit of lace behind the strip of paper on the bottom that is stamped. I love this pp because it reminds me of beautiful wallpaper.

HIDDEN (behind photo) HANDWRITTEN JOURNALING (to my son and future children):
I hope that the phrase, “Love is spoken here” will become our family motto. When your dad and I were engaged we received a wooden wall hanging for a wedding gift. It simply said, “Love is Spoken Here.” Now that wooden wall hanging adorns our family room walls alongside some family pictures. When we received the gift I thought it was especially appropriate because the phrase comes from the title of my favorite primary song. The song talks about different characteristics of a strong family such as: prayer, togetherness, trust, parental bonds and leadership, and love. I hope that this becomes a favorite song of yours too (especially since I’ve sung it to you since you were a newborn). When you hear the words “love is spoken here” or when you look at the wall hanging, remember how important family is. Remember to speak kind words. Remember that our home is a place of refuge from the rest of the world. Remember that your parents love you. Most of all remember that God loves you and he sent you here to be a part of our family. As your parents, one of our gifts to you is our love for each other. Your father and I have loved you before you came to our family and our love for you will last through the eternities. Love, Mom September 2005
