My sister Jean and me c.1951.
My mother was an incredible needlewoman; she made a lot of our dresses and at least one of my winter coats. She relaxed by knitting and we were all well supplied with sweaters, hats, and scarves. For some reason, my father's Aunt Jenny supplied all of our mittens, several pairs for each of us. This was good, because I remember changing them several times a day as each pair became crusted with snow.

All paper and embellies came with the fabulous Winter Wonderland kit from Swirlydoos. Such a gorgeous kit, crammed with all sorts of pretties and a Beggahuna sketch to play with!!!! All of the embossing supplies as well as the Moonlight GM are also from the kit; the rest are from my stash. A special thanks to DT member Robin 2 (Loves2Create) for pointing out the mittens. I had picked out the photo, but didn't know exactly what I wanted to say until I saw her “Me and My Mittens” layout.

Lots of trial and error with embossing here; I'm still trying to learn. I used Embossing Tinsel on the glittery snowflakes and the Embossing Puffs on the tops of the alphas.
