One of the many things that excited me as soon as I opened my aptly named "Vineyard" kit was the realization that not only did I have the perfect opportunity to play with purple, but these papers and embellishments were perfect for this picture of my granddaughter that was taken in December.

Using a tip from Bec, I coated both sides of my paper with clear gesso to create a good surface for mixed media. After letting it dry overnight, I applied molding paste through a stencil to give it some background texture. When it was set, I applied some mica powder here and there with a dry brush and spritzed it with water.

Next came the layers to mat my photo; I've punched two of the sides of the larger piece, stapled them all together and adhered them to my page. The photo was given a bit of dimension with a layer of cardboard underneath and then glued to the paper layers.

And now came the fun: piling on the embellies!!! I've sprayed the Dusty Attic chippie from the kit, as well as one from Blue Fern Studios with several Prima Color Bloom sprays and then toned them down with a bit of chalk ink. Along with the Prima flowers and Chipboards and More (again from the kit), I've added some flowers, laces and a zipper pull from my stash.

I thought it would be fun to dig out my UTEE and try Angelica's Cracked Glass Butterfly tutorial https://snapguide.com/guides/create-a-cracked-glass-vellum-butterfly/. I'm so glad I did; the results are sooooo pretty!!!
