I love, LOVE this photo of you at age 6. You were beaming then, and you are still beaming now, my friend. This page is so full of amazing beauty - it's a wonderful work of art. I really loved reading the story behind your layout, too.
Such a beautiful layout! Love the photo and what you wrote about it. It is true that the background of photos can bring back many memories. The stenciled clock looks awesome!
Such wonderful memories! You are so lucky to have photos of you when you were young! I love so many things about this LO: the colors, masks, distressing, that fabulous ruler & clock. This is a terrific LO!
You are such a cute toothless wonder!! I noticed the radio right away & thank you for sharing your story & taking us back in time. Love the lo & how you did the clocks. Your lace, flowers, punches all make for an absolutely fabulous vintage lo!:)
OMG! Look at that cute toothless smile! How super cute! I love seeing all your furniture there in the background and how the memories came flooding back to you while you scrapped this photo. The broken ruler, clocks and washi tape are all fabulously fun type of embellies. Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous! I Love all every single thing...makes a terrific vintage page of your childhood. fave
You look so proud on the picture. I love the leaves on the and how you matted the pictures. Peggy, you brought back memories of living in Mexico. Some of the neighborhood kids would come at night and we would just hang out listening to music. We were able to listen to music from the States, since we just lived across the border. I still, as old as I am love listing to music at night. In fact music is playing in the background as I type this.
I love how you double layered the clock die cut by first using at as a mask. Genius. Those leaves on the side of your photo are divine. And a super cute photo of you too. Gorgeous work Peggy!
Cute photo Peggy! I love the stereo in the background. I used to listen to WLS Chicago growing up, it was my favorite radio station. Great page and wonderful story!
What a cute picture and I really enjoyed the story behind it! That stereo looks awesome. They don't make anything like they used to! I like how you inked the clock as a stencil and then moved it. Those sheer leaves are awesome! Nice work, Peggy.
Oh Peggy! What a gorgeous layout and just an incredible photo. Your layouts always seem to inspire emotions in me. The shadowed clock and the ruler are great embellishments for this. Thanks for sharing your memories.
The title refers to the photo of a six-year-old me proudly showing off the gap left by the loss of my two front teeth. I created this page for the April Childhood Challenge, where one of the topics is “Firsts” This photo, taken by my father, brings back such wonderful memories of our living room as it was then. That’s a cherry drop-leaf table in front of the window facing the side of the house. Next to it, you can see the arm of the smaller sofa; the larger one is against the other wall. They were upholstered in a velvety fabric; one in rose, the other in a soft teal. In the corner, you can see our radio: A Zenith in a gorgeous wood cabinet. Back then, there was AM and there was shortwave, and we had both, hence that complex looking dial. The antenna, located in the bottom, was incredible. I lived in Western New York, so of course, we could pick Rochester and Buffalo (WKBW was the best during my teen years!) and Canada, but we could usually pick up the stronger stations from New York City (think WABC and WMCA, both Top 40 stations at the time). In the summer, we could pick up WLS out of Chicago at night and it came in as clear as a bell. And the speaker was even more awesome. When the volume was turned up full blast, the windows literally shook. (This was only tried when my parents weren’t home, of course.) A big “thank you” to SGoetter for reminding me that I’ve been neglecting my “Loops” punch….
