Give a Cheer
This is my maternal grandmother at the age of 17 in 1916. She was a teacher before getting married, a seamtress and worked most of her life in a fabric store, she loved flowers and lace and was a fierce prohibitionist. In a day and age when divorce was so rare, she divorced my grandfather (1949) because he had a glass of wine with Sunday dinner & she couldn't accept that. She actually watered down several of my father's whiskey bottles during the years! The one thing I remember most about her was the twinkle in her eyes! (my gr-grandma had 5 total kids---Freda, Fred, Paul, Pauline & Ivy---little imagination in names!)
