That is cool that you could get some of the glass...it is a beautiful piece. Good luck and be careful cutting it...can hardly wait to see the necklace.
It's beautiful glass and will be a lovely reminder for you of the church how it was. Good luck cutting the glass and framing them! I am sure you will make a lovely necklace with it.
That's sad about replacing the church's stained glass windows, but great that you were able to get a few pieces and make some art work out of it. I remember when they removed all the stained glass windows from my old church that my father's mother helped pay for. I was too young to ask for any.
I think framing the big one will look awesome! What a great idea to make jewelry out of the small parts of the smaller piece you don't need! I've always wanted to learn stainded glass but have never taken the time to do it! I don't think cutting glass is all that hard if you have the right tool.
Our church is currently undergoing a remodeling. Part of that involved changing the windows to more energy saving type. So, they took the beautiful stained glass ones out. Anyone who wanted some could have them. I told a friend I wanted some so he went and got me 2 different pieces. One complete panel and this one is was broken coming out. My plan for this one and the complete one is to frame both of them. This one I hope to cut it so it will be easier to frame. What is cut off I hope to make a necklace out of. I will have to get a glass cutter first. Little nervous tackling this but, never know until I try, right? Wish me luck! BTW, I personally don't care for the new windows right now. But, think they will be nice when they put the blinds on them. They have painted the paneling white and it looks a lot brighter.
